86 Hurst Rise Road and 'Old' Hutchcomb's Copse
Saturday 1st June, 1 - 5pm
An unmissable chance to visit
"a wonderful town garden and a wild wood"
Combined entry £4 - children free
“A small town garden created by the owners over the last 10 years. Planting in layers around a central lawn featuring small trees, shrubs, roses, clematis and many herbaceous plants with bees & butterflies in mind. Seasonal pots and hanging baskets. There are some interesting sculptures dotted around the garden too. Two areas of seating provide a place to sit back and enjoy the scent & flowers from February to October with an unusual water feature next to one patio providing further sensory enjoyment”.
The garden is regularly opened under the National Garden Scheme.
Old Hutchcomb's Copse is in private ownership and access is by invitation only.
The entrance to the Copse is just across the road from the garden. Come join us (weather permitting) on a guided walk. Learn how we plan to manage the wood as a haven for nature and how you can help. Share your stories and memories of the area.
The tour will take 20- 30 minutes. There is lots of interest and good views close to the entrance. Going further on, you will find that the paths are steep and uneven in places. The full walk is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
Please come dressed for a proper ramble. Decent shoes are a must.
Long trousers and walking stick recommended.
Your safety is our main concern - we don’t want to have to turn anyone away.
Please sign up for our newsletters for details of future events. If there is enough interest we hope to organise regular open days.
Email info@hutchcombs-copse.org.uk to register your interest in visiting the Copse. It may be possible to join us when the wood is open for working parties.
